Without thinking the M3 has proven itself time and time again. Audi 8 cylinder though is faster and better riding car.

Me, i'd choose the S5, because i personally like the more toned-down appearance of audi's compared to bmw's... on most accounts they're about equal, the M3 i think is the better performance car, so it might come down to 1. style and 2. comfort. which one do you like better in terms of looks? and go to a dealership and test-drive both, see where you feel more at home.

It was between the two. Both are great cars. I like the Audi for its refinement, interior and performance...great combination. M3 was more raw power.

If you want an impressive GT, the S5

I just traded in my 2008 M3 Sedan for an S5.

The M3 was really nice and the sedan is practical but I never got to really use the engine to the fullest.

But I like the S5 body style so much more and definitely love the quattro.
Also the B&O stereo blows away the BMW premium audio Logic 7 option which is a waste of money. The Audi backup camera is cool too and rather practical.

I dont get to race much. Where I live, I see cops everytime I go out for a drive... I got pulled over for speeding twice in 6 months; all unintentionally too. I wasnt racing, just going over the speed limit without realizing it.

But boy did I get raped in the trade-in...
