I am about to get a car but i cannot make up my mind between these two beautiful cars: 335i coupe and S5.

My budget is about $53000 (Including tax) so i guess I have to get "used S5" or new 335i coupe with fully loaded.

My question is which one performs better in terms of pretty much every aspect?

And, which one would you get?

Anyone can please help me decide? Thank you.

Ironically, my dad drives a 2009 Audi S5, and my mom drives a 2007 BMW 335i Convertible.

Personally, I have been able to get the S5 up to 113 on the highway, and the BMW up to 107 on the highway. Hell, I learned how to drive on the 335.

I prefer the S5 for a few reasons.

1) The interior quality and ergonomics are superb. Nobody can deny that BMW has set the standards for quality, and fit and finish pretty high in their cars, but I believe Audi is ahead of them on this one. On the Bimmer, the driver's side window switch panel paint, and the sport steering wheel paint is already chipping, even though the car is only about 14 Months old. Plus, we opted out of buying the navigation because of iDrive. It was on the 530i is was traded in for, and it was overly complicated and overpriced.

2) It truly is a bargain compared to the 335i. When you price out a 335i to meet the amount of standard features on a base S5, the difference is a mere $950. Not that bad considering the extra 54hp, interior volume, and looks the S5 offers. **Don't be surprised if the BMW Dealer charges you an extra $140 for Floor Mats

3) Let's face it: the 3-Series is about as popular as a Ford Taurus in the early 90's. When you are spending this type of money, I think you would want something that stands out of the crowd, rather than blend in. It's pretty easy to do this the LED's the S5 has (You can turn them off when you don't want to look like an alien)

Overall: There are a few things that bother me on the S5. They are the lack of a fully opening sunroof, Blind Spots, OMG Worthy Repair Bills ($460 5,000 Miles Checkup), and Dismal MPG (Avg. 12.8 MPG w/ Lead-foot). But, you kind of forget all of that when you get features like the Bang & Olufson Sound System (iPod Sound Quality Rocks), Technology Package (Pretty good Navigation Interface), and the Stick Shift, which has somewhat long of throws, but lacks a rubbery feel plagued by most cars.

Good Luck

BMW take at look at the 335d

the Audi gets poor fuel economy, has a notchy shifter and a sunroof that doesn't open just tilts up I'd expect better for $50,000 + options
