I think that the R8 is a brilliant car. Perhaps not 100% as good as a 911, but surely better in everyday use. What do you think?

r8, the porsche is very suseptable to frontal impact. one small tap and the radiator (which is perched way out at the nose) is screwed and you then cant move anywhere.

Well if you are talking about a 911 Carrera or Carrera S then i would say definitely the Audi it beats it hands down all the way around. if you are going to get a 911 turbo then the turbo would be better on the track but for every day driving you will give up allot without see most of the returns. The Audi also has the advantage for both comfort and interior ergonomics and has a landslide win when it comes to looks. the R8 looks like an exotic while the Porsche looks like another Porsche (which isn't bad by any means) so if you want a track car that you can take out to dinner once in a while then a 911 turbo is your car (not buy much though) if you will only see the track once or twice a year and will see the streets more than once or twice a week then the R8 is definitely the car to get. i would go for the R8 over a 911 without hesitation that is if you could get one. They are sold out for 2008 and from the rumors I've heard the owners have to give first right to buyback to Audi before they can sell it.

I say stand out, people have 911's. Go for the Audi it looks more stylish and eyecatching then a 911. besides their both German, you have nothing to lose.

It depends what you want is you want speed go with the 9 1 1 if you want better street travel go with the R8

I actually had my name on the waiting list. The R8 that is. Its a great car, and a real head turner. My buddy and I have actually ran our cars on a track his was a Porsche Cayman, but only similar to the 911 in body style. The R8 is fast, but the 911 is a better everyday car my r8 gets 16 in city and 21 on highway and the 911 gets 18 city and 26 highway. Im would take my R8 over a 911 anyday, because it is not seen everyday. Around where I like you see porsche everywhere. I love my R8 and would not give it up. and its faster than the 911 :P.

if u r going to have many cars, then buy the 911. but if u r going to use it everyday for work, buy the R8, the R8 also looks better.
