After the timing slipped on my 1996 A4 2.8 12v (AFC) the heads and block were replaced from an identical car. After it was put back together it wouldn't start. Each injector and plug cycles through twice and then shut down. it reading trouble codes P1393 P1394 and P1395 (stage 1-3 ignition coil malfunction) but i know it can't be the coils because the plugs spark twice every time you try to start it. I used the Bentley manual to test the cam position and crank position. Both have continuity and the manual said to replace the ECM. I replaced it from one out of a junk yard but it still has the same problem. any suggestions? Does the ECM need to be married to the car?
