I have a 2007 A4 2.0T Avant Quattro.

When I installed my new K&N airfilter 33-2209, it appears to be about an inch short. K&N does not know why & my Audi dealer confirmed that the airbox was in front of the passenger's side of the car. They don't know much else.

Anyone heard of this issue and how to fix it?
Am I putting the filter in the right place?
