Guys:
Hurricane Irene dropped a tree on my 2002 A6 2.7T trunk lid. I found a nice replacement on eBay, same color and badges, but it's from a 2001. My body shop says there seems to be a difference in the trunk release - latch mechanism based on the part #'s. Does anyone know for sure if I could refit the release-latch mechanism? It may be cheaper than buying a new trunklid, painting it, etc. Thanks for your expert input.
