Hi My A4 overheats. When I start up the radaitor fans kicks in immediately and runs continuously. Not sure if its the thermostat. I ve read that the thermostat always fail in the open position to prevent overheating. Help!

I just fixed my overheating problem with the Audi A4. I changed the thermostat. Then test the thermostat and put them both in a pot of boiling water, and both have worked well. Quick Check: When you put the heater on the side of the car, if it does not blow hot air, the problem could have blown the water pump. Mine was in pieces when I looked. I changed the water pump and everything is working fine now. If you car is new check some possible Audi recalls (http://www.automd.com/recall/audi_m/) for more info check the site there's a list of recalls and repair you could used to...

Sounds like you have a dead water pump.

What year is your A4?

Had the same issue changing the water pump fixed it, the thermostat wasn't the issue.
