Is the Audi R8 coming out this year or next year. If anyone get's one on can you send me pictures? I'll never even get close to enough money to get one of those. Anybody know of any big up and coming sports cars?
Other than the R8?
What do you think of the R8?
I think it's going to be hard for companies like Lamborghini and McLaren to compete with Aud in sports cars now.
Sorry I thought Lamborghini was a seperate company but I guess it's not.

I like the R8, but I must point out something. Audi doesn't own Lamborghini, VolkswagenAG does.
VolkswagenAG also owns Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Seat, Skoda and of course Volkswagen. Also, Porsche is not owned by them, they actually own about 30% of Volkswagen AG.

Um...you do know that Audi wholely owns Lamborghini now, right? They even share engines in some cars. That being said, I don't think the R8 is intended to compete with ferrari, but rather porsche.

Yes, the R8 is already hurting Porsche, Ferrari and Lambo sales. Most exotics have huge running costs, and are (with the exception of Porsche) generally not reliabel enough to survive daily use and normal mileages.
A clutch on an F430 will rarely last 20k km - and can cost €3-5K to replace - a regular service on a Gallardo costs as much as a small car and so on. The R8 runs the same engine and transmission components as the RS4 - so you get regular Audi quality and reliablity and any Audi dealer or specialist will service it - more expensive than a normal Audi but nowhere near exotic costs.
Add to that it is genuinely comfortable, practical and will easily take daily use - its the kind of car that makes a watershed shange to a segment. It's like the NSX or E-type.
