My Audi a6 automatic 2.6 old model 1993 has decided to stick in one gear, its called "limp" mode I think, designed to get you home, any ideas how to get it back ok again, I cannot find anything in the haynes Manual about it.

Check the automatic gearbox oil level first. Turned out to be the selector switch on mine and a hefty repair bill

How do you check the level on a car that has no dipstick (94 100cs)?
